Francis and is family live close to Kapita Community School. Both his parents are alive and support the family through subsistence farming. Batwell, the oldest boy in the family attends Nsefu Day Secondary School and is now in grade 10. His parents manage to pay for this. Second born in the family is Emmison who attends Mambwe Boarding Secondary School and is supported through the Project Luangwa sponsorship scheme. Francis also has 11 year old twin sisters but they have been sent to live with an Aunt in Msoro Chiefdom as she has a baby and wanted the girls to help her with house chores and so on. Youngest in the family is Bibiana who is 6 years old and attends Kapita Pre-school.
Francis has attended Kapita Community School from Grades 1 to 7 and last year sat his grade 7 exams. He gained a composite score of 699 and was offered a place at Nsefu Day Secondary School. Nsefu Day Secondary School started around 3 years ago when the Zambian Ministry of Education allocated some of the already overcrowded primary school classrooms at Kawaza Primary to make into a secondary school. Unfortunately it has little in the way of facilities.

You can get an idea of which subjects the pupil likes or is good at by looking at his or her marks. English and mathematics are obvious but you might like an explanation of the other subjects. Social and Development Studies is all about geography, history and civics. Zambian Language is the study of one of the many languages used in Zambia; in this area it is Chinyanja. Creative and Technology Studies is a mix or practical subjects such as arts and crafts. The marks may also indicate the type person, especially when it comes to the Special Papers; Special Paper 1 is a simple and basic IQ test based on English and Maths logic and Special Paper 2 is a basic visual IQ test based on patterns.
